Brown Bradley believes he can save his hometown by building a new theme park called Superland. But on the day of its grand opening, he is confronted by a park mechanic named William Duncan and forced to see that the wounds of the town run deeper than he ever could have imagined. As the day unfolds into chaos and begins to unhinge Brown’s vision, Brown is forced to confront a pivotal event from his childhood where he was saved from a near fatal fall by a caped figure who could fly — a superhero — on the day his father died in a plane crash. A story about the extraordinary power of love, family and faith, A SUPERHERO is a new musical drama that asks the question: are superheroes real?

“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
